Job Title: HGV 2 Driver Refuse Driver
Location: Reading
About the Role:
Our client, is seeking a dedicated Class 2 Driver to join their team in delivering high-quality waste and recycling collection services. As part of a large team, you will play a key role in maintaining excellent customer service for residents in the area. Your responsibilities will include driving various HGV vehicles, completing essential vehicle checks, and assisting with a range of tasks across departments.
Working Hours:
- Monday - Friday
- 6am to 2.30pm
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive and load vehicles for waste and recycling collection services.
- Safety is central to everything our client does. You will ensure that you operate vehicles and perform all tasks in accordance with safety procedures, legal requirements, and training.
- Proactive reporting of any safety concerns, accidents, or incidents is crucial to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Vehicle checks for condition and road worthiness and completing all necessary forms and report any issues immediately.
- Utilise the work allocation system to quickly and accurately report back to the office. Electronic devices in the vehicle will assist you in recording completed work efficiently, ensuring maximum productivity.
Flexibility & Overtime:
Occasionally, you may be required to work overtime on weekends or assist with duties outside the scope of the job description as needed.
What We’re Looking For:
- A valid HGV 2 licence
- Valid driver card (CPC) and Tachograph card
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if required
