The Best Connection Celebrates 25th Anniversary

Date: 5th Thursday, May, 2016

Flexible Workforce Solutions business, The Best Connection, is to celebrate its 25th anniversary with a party to be held at Birmingham’s ICC on May 7th 2016.

The Midlands headquartered business, which was positioned 79th in the Sunday Times listing of the UK’s 250 Top Track companies in 2015, was founded by Andrew Sweeney, Neil Yorke and Martin Recci in 1991 with Michael Cooper joining two years later.  Since then, the business has developed an extensive network of 80 branches throughout the UK where it supplies temporary labour to the industrial, HGV, retail and warehouse & distribution sectors.

Neil Yorke, Director, said: “This milestone is a huge achievement for the company and in particular for all our staff that have made the business what it is today, many of whom have been with us from the start.  We thought it was only fitting to get together to celebrate.  The biggest challenge was finding a large enough venue and overnight accommodation for everyone in the centre of Birmingham, but we got there in the end.”

In 2015 the directors formed a holding company, Strategic Workforce Solutions Group Ltd (SWS), to accommodate The Best Connection and its complementary acquisitions and UK and overseas expansion.  In 2014, the business achieved a turnover of over £300 million and now employs over 700 staff across its national branch network.

“Along with our own celebrations we also decided to support a charitable cause as part of the build-up and chose national charity, Fisher House, which is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham.  Throughout the latter part of 2015 and this year our staff have been busy getting creative to raise money for the charity and have done a great job.  We look forward to welcoming Fisher House at our celebratory event,” added Yorke.
